Back frm my trip!

I left hm on the 22nd of Dec 2006 & i am back on 2nd of Jan 2007. This is e first time I am away for so long & also having both my Christmas & New yr celebrated overseas..definately sumthing worth remembering..

22/12/06
Had a red bean bun for breakfast & made my way to e airport. Suspected had food poisoning as i was vomiting & having diarroeah at e airport..bad way to start e trip..i only got better after i took some medicine at Macau. Ironically, e medicine was to prepare for any stomach upset i might ve frm eating China food but in e end it was used when i took Spore food.

After reaching Macau, we made our way to Zhu Hai where our 1st hotel is. Gg there frm Macau is so near & convenient which is jus like hw Spore & Johore is. After settling dwn, we went to take a bus dwn to c 珠海渔女 by e sea. Their public transport isnt as bad as wat i tot to be. E bus is pretty comfy & even ve annoucement for every single stop jus like our mrt. After e sightseeing, we set off to where e undergrd shopping mall is but we took a wrong bus & by e time we reach e mall, is already night time. Their night time starts early, by the time it is 6+, it looks like it is already 8+. We walk ard e mall awhile before we set to find an eating place to ve dinner & den head back to hotel.

We had buffet breakfast at e hotel but it was nt v nice..maybe coz we nt used to their food..oily & salty. After which we set off to Macau to visit e remnant of St. Pauls den proceed back to e airport to fetch marcus mum & sis. Meanwhile marcus & i made our way back to Zhu Hai to meet up wif his coursemate who lives there. Well this ger, Zhi Qing is v nice & generous..bought us some local products & bring us ard sightseeing & eat dong bei traditional food. But we only had an afternoon tog coz need to meet up wif marcus parents to eat dinner. We had dinner at e hotel resturant & marcus dad had a quarrel wif e waitress coz of e unreasonable pricing when e bill came. In e end he won & his first lesson to me was : fight for yr own rights, do nt be afraid to speak up against wat u feel is unreasonable.

We took a ferry & make our way to Hong Kong. Our hotel is at 旺角but e hotel is gd enough to provide bus service to 尖沙咀. That is where we walk dwn e star avenue & visit e space museum. After which we set to look for a resturant for dinner (eating there is cheap..tt's y we spend alot of time eating..dim sum, buffet, seafood blah blah..& tt explains for my wt gain.) At night we went to 女人街to shop..but e stuffs over there isnt really tt cheap so in e end i din buy anything but marcus bought 3 sets of Jerseys. We went back early coz e police is starting to close e street for e christmas party. Thru e TV, we c hw hong kongers party wild for christmas.

We took e tram up to e Peak where we enjoy city views frm e roof top. After which we had dim sum for lunch..e food there is gd but more expensive coz it's a tourist attraction. Marcus & i visited e Madame Tussauds wax portraits museum in e peak tower while e rest went off to shop. The ticket is expensive but coz i ve never been to any before so i decided to go ve a look. We took photos wif alot of wax figures..including Mr Lee Kuan Yew..haha..By e time we left e Peak, e sun is already setting. After dinner, we went back to 女人街so tt marcus can buy his 4th set of jersey..he is really in luv wif jersey..

Tog wif marcus siblings, we made our way to Disneyland! I ve heard frm frens tt Disneyland is nt tt fun & e rides there are kiddish but well i don feel e same. I enjoyed myself v much there! E rides are fun..except for e roller coaster ride which is so scary. E performance over there (muscial show) is fanstatic! The parade of e characters is also nice! At night e streets are all light up so beautifully wif fake snow & nt to forget e breathtaking fireworks! Nw i understand y e ticket is so expensive..

We went 浅水湾to look at e houses of e rich..ppl like Jackie Chan..whose houses are built on e hill. After tt we went to c 水上人家,e poor ppl who live on e boat. His father says this is to let us compare & c e distinct difference btw e rich & e poor in Hong Kong. We had our lunch in Jumbo( a v unqiue resturant built in e middle of e river) In e evening, we set to take mrt to a far end station where we cross e border to reach Shen Zhen(深圳). That is where we met up wif Marcus china Gu ma. Tog we were treated to a dinner by Marcus's dad china fren. His fren thou in US, got his secretary to take us out for dinner. A v generous man.

We went to visit 锦绣中华, a garden where all e great wonders & cultures of China is shown in miniature form. We din ve enought time to finish touring e place as we need to move on to 东门to do some shopping. We were eager to spend more time shopping as we are moving on to guangzhou tmr..but we were warned by many tt it is nt safe to stay out too late..so we headed thier advice & went back early.

We took a train & set off to Guangzhou. After settling dwn, we went to a market & walk ard. Tt is where i c alot of beggars, kids especially. There are 2 in particular, jus lie on e street & sleep..wif jus a thin blanket over them. (for e following days, i still c them wif e same position..for a moment i tot they were dead..den marcus parents say most prob these kids ve been injected by some medicine tt will put them to sleep for such long time..poor thing..)

We went to Sun Yat Sen memorial hall in e morning wif his father giving us history lessons abt Sun Yat Sen. I felt stress whenever he start to test me abt all this. I only ve some rough ideas..nt able to rem every details. I always felt lousy when i cant ans his qns. Anyway after this we went to climb some don noe hw many flights of steps to c 5 goats statues. His father say it is a muz c as e legend of these 5 goats is e reason y Guangzhou is also came to be known as 羊城. At night we went to 海珠广场&Peking road to walk ard. Tt is where i saw Thomas Ong also..heh..

We went to c e tomb of e 72 dead heros who dedicated their life to e revolution started by Mr Sun & had our part 2 history lessons there. After tt we went 上下九路步行街to shop ard. At nite we gather ard to countdown for new yr. We do a mini cheers & everyone crawl back to sleep after tt..we were all too tired..

We went to e market to buy some fruits. Following tt, we went to take a ferry ride to c 珠江& some local Uni. Soon it's time for a good dinner before we start packing & leaving e hotel to e airport.
